I was out in my back yard letting my dog out around 10:30 pm on 4/11/12. I had my phone out messing around playing a game or something. Getting ready to go back up the stairs on the deck to enter my house, I caught a light moving in the sky out of the corner of my eye. I thought a shooting star. Then I looked up at it and it was definitely not a shooting star.
There was three round/orb bluish/white lights in the sky in a tight triangle formation. Very symmetric. There was a yellowish/greenish "ring" around them. Very similar to what a rack for pool balls looks like. It was above my neighbors house. Moving towards the west. It was not very high in the sky, though not particularly close to the ground either. It did not make any sounds. It moved west and accelerated then disappeared behind the eave of my neighbors house. I ran up the driveway, only a matter of 2 seconds but it was gone. I didn't see lights trailing off in the distance or anything. Just gone. The whole event lasted less than 5 seconds. I seen it in the corner of my eye, looked, realized it wasn't a shooting star like I thought, wondered what I was seeing, and it accelerated and was gone just like that.
I am skeptic on all things like this. I have a range of feelings. Doubt, amazement, excited, embarrassed, weirded out. It is the first time I have ever seen anything remotely like that. I live close to where a major airport as one of its landing runways facing. I'm used to seeing planes come in for landings over my neighborhood. I've seen satellites, shooting stars, night parachuters, people floating plastic grocery bags with tea candles in them. But I have never, ever seen anything like that object in the sky.
