At approximately 12:30am on Thursday, May 1 I was watching TV when my daughter came hurriedly down the stairs saying "dad, you've got to come see this, hurry up". We went outside in the front yard and looking toward the south I could see three red orb-like lights flashing on and off in sync with each other. The lights were in an almost straight horizontal line. It would take about 1 to 2 seconds to cycle through the three lights, then about a 2 second pause and repeat. The synchronous timing of the lights made me think they were all attached to one object as opposed to being 3 separate objects. I couldn't see the object itself. It was moving slowly from east to west approximately 1/4 to 1/2 of a mile from us and I estimate about 75 to 100 feet off the ground. I lost view of it when it went behind a house across the street. My daughter and I got in the truck and drove toward where we last saw it but it was nowhere in sight.
My daughter told me when she first saw it from her upstairs window, the lights were in a triangular formation.
My first reaction when I saw it was to try to think of what it could be. All I could come up with in my mind was things it couldn't be. It was flying too slow to be an aircraft and the configuration of the lights were wrong. There was absolutely no sound so I knew it wasn't an aircraft or helicopters. I spent 23 years in the Navy, some of it working around jets and helicopters so I am familiar with them and what they look like and sound like. This was like nothing I had ever seen before.
