i was outside to smoke a cigarette.noticed 3 lights to my n.e. at first just thought it was a plane but it never moved.was 3 bright white lights in trangular shape.2 top 1 below centered.the sky was very cloudy as i looked around to see if any stars could be seen...nothing else was visisble in the sky at that time but the lights i was seeing.i finished my cig.it was still there never moved i went in the house got my binaculars to get a closer look as soon as it came into view through my optics the lights changed from 3 triangular to 3 horizontal yellowish/orange very bright lights.it went 1 2 3 and as soon as the 4th appeared it vanished as if someone turned off a light switch.i put the optics down and nuuuthing was anywhere in site.this was and is something i have never been witness to before.very odd.
