Sighting Details

While driving east home with family, 4 kids and husband, I noticed the giant moon in front of us and directed the kids to see such an awesome site. Suddenly just below the moon I noticed 2 triangles of white lite, like two arrows, one set in front of the other heading directly south. The second set slowly dimmed, then showed up bright in front of the other set...this pattern kept repeating itself..as it continued moving south. The rear set would slowly dim and then appear in front of the other set. This continued on until I lost it over the horizon due to trees. It was not moving at at fast pace and did not have aircraft positioning lights. We travelled approx a mile to our home and it stayed in site for another minute till trees blocked our view. A little background information: I am an AF brat and was in the aviation Navy for 10 years. I have been around aircraft, rockets, blimps, and helos all my life. Living near Eglin and being overseas..I have also seen chaff. What it reminded me of if it had been moving east would be 2 jet engine aircraft in after burners..then turning off burners and exchanging sides .over and over again. Once we reached home and turned off car and kids ran into house....there was no jet or prop sounds heard. I did call Eglin and started to report what I had seen....got embarrassed and hung up. Asked around and later searched the web and haven't found anyone else with similar experience. Have y'all?
