Sighting Details

My mother and I were outside drinking coffee on the front porch of our house. I looked over to watch the sunset, we'd gone outside to have a cigarette since there's no smoking in the house. It was very bright, either glowing itself or reflecting back the setting sun beneath it, it was far enough away to be difficult to tell. When I first saw it I thought it was probably some kind of plane because it left a trail behind it, though the trail behind it was about 1/4 the length those usually left by such planes as are more commonly seen, so I nudged my mother and gestured to it. It was in the middle of the sky at this point, no clouds around, and out in the wide open. She says 'It's probably just a jet', and in the short time it takes her to say those five words that I looked at her for, I look back and not only is whatever it is gone, so is the entire tail it was leaving behind it in the air. Which at the slow speed it was going while leaving the tail would be pretty much physically impossible for it to disappear from the sky along with the stream it left behind it, too. So we look at each other, both of us shiver, and we both decide to go inside. I've seen multiple crafts and even lived in Gulf Breeze during the Ed Walters sightings, just blocks away, so I was not particularly frightened, but it was definitely a surprise and somewhat off putting and exciting.
