I was getting in the passenger seat of our vehicle and my husband was just making his way to the car and had not yet passed in front of where I was sitting. When he got to my corner of the vehicle, he stared into the sky. At that moment, he banged on the hood of the vehicle and told me to get out of the car. When I got out he pointed into the sky above the house across the street. When I saw it, I ran inside to grab my brother who was there for Thanksgiving weekend, so that he could witness it as well. We all witnessed it descending towards us at a fairly fast speed. Just before coming in contact with us and our home, it abruptly changed direction and flew away towards the lake, appearing as though it had landed. Being that my brother is a licensed pilot, he knew who he should call. He called Trenton Air Force Base, knowing that they deal with our airspace. Trenton looked into it, and returned his call saying that the only flight that was scheduled to be in the area was one that had already taken off,and that it landed as scheduled at the Buttonville Airport. They also said that they have not received any emergency calls regarding any aircraft on fire. I know it wasn't a man made aircraft. It was a huge ball of fire, trying to chase us down. It is extremely shocking and very bizarre. We drove around in the direction that it had flown away, but had no luck locating it.
