Upon walking back home tonight from Brighton's Laines, I was in my street, and I looked up at the sky to see how lovely the sunset looked. To my surprise, I saw what I thought was a bright star and I thought it might be Venus....until it started moving to the left, then right, and it kept doing this. I watched for about 5 minutes, and then a passer-by and his young son saw me looking up and I said, "Oh look, I think that's the International Space Station!" They too were amazed and we all watched for about another 3 to 4 minutes, and we lightheartedly started talking about how nice it would be to go to an observatory.
The sighting was very close to a cloud, and it disappeared behind the cloud, so I stopped looking up and carried on walking home.
As I had kind of convinced myself that it MUST be the ISS, it didn't really make me feel too surprised or shocked, until a friend of mine on Facebook told me that the ISS did its rounds in Brighton early this morning. He then posted me your link...and here I am!
