I was sitting in my car with a friend at the top of a mountain in San Francisco when I saw a very bright orange light hovered high above the city skyline. It didn't make sense to me because in that direction was the Pacific Ocean. Also, this is a spot that I frequent often and had never seen it before.
I didn't say anything to my friend until I noticed it started moving slowly across the horizon. I told her about it but she didn't believe me. Then I told her to look at the building lights and try to align it with the weird light...it was then that she realized and finally agreed the light was moving!
I was mainly in disbelief because I didn't want to believe it. I do believe there may be other life forms out there but it never occurred to me that I'd ever see it in person myself. Anyways, it moved in a very slow, lateral fashion across the horizon for about 20 minutes or so. It went over the Sunset, Golden Gate Park and Richmond district before it finally shot straight up into space and that was it.
