outside at mom's nursing home: she was fascinated by the alto-cirrus clouds and kept on telling me to look up. but, she thought passenger jets did it. a jetliner was flying by and I pointed out the difference to her. she couldn't see it anyway. it was then I saw two UFOs. I stopped pushing her wheelchair, and pretty much stopped talking. I observed these two odd, hovering lights, that looked like stars in a blue sky, slowly float away. she couldn't see them (her eyes will be 89 in just a few days). as they drifted off, they would get closer and then farther apart from each other. they didn't do that crazy 'fly fifty miles in half a second' thing. just floated off like a child's lost balloon. but, this was no "weather balloon". they behaved nothing like a plane, helicopter, or a satellite. i glanced away for a couple of seconds. when i looked back, i'd lost them. i'm a big airplane buff and i know how things in the sky are supposed to move. this wasn't that. lifelong believer, i was a little disappointed in the boringness of my first ever and only UFO sighting....but i'm now going to keep my eyes trained upwards. who knows what i've been missing by shoegazing!
