I live in a rural area and when it is moonless and clear sometimes I like to watch for sats. and shooting stars. I was looking towards the southeast and seen what looked like a slow moving meteor that appeared to be headed in my general direction since it wasn't streaking fast. I thought I was going to see a nice meteor since it was getting brighter and I was hoping to see one of the meteors that splits apart but this was not what happened. It got brighter and brighter then seemed to stop at which point it reversed direction 180 degrees and headed back the way it came growing dimmer as it went. This was very surprising to me since I have watched meteors and stars and man made objects for a long time. I could tell it was in the upper atmosphere. By the time I thought to yell for my wife it had faded from sight. She said I was nuts but I know what I seen. I would not be reporting this but since I seen your program MUFON hanger one and they said Missouri was a hot spot I figure it would not hurt to at least report this. meteors do not reverse direction and as high up as this was it was not a aircraft especially as bright as it got right before reversing direction. I do not want any publicity as I am not looking for fame I just want to report a sighting.
