Sighting Details
On December 30, 2012, we were driving east on Bourgeois around 7:30 pm and noticed 5 lights (close together)in the shape of a boomerang moving west over the north part of the beltway. The object was a bit larger than a normal 737 jet that we see all the time to the north/east of this (landing at IAH) and did not have any of the normal navigation lights or beacons. The lights would all light up intense red (about three times the brightness of nav lights), then go out for about 1 second, then light up all white, then go out, then light up orange/yellow, then go back to red. The object was flying fairly low (below the cloud cover) (it was a cloudy night) and appeared to have a plane above and behind it that seemed to be following it. The speed of the object was about the same as a 737 jet. We were driving in a car traveling slowly east on Bourgeois and saw the object to the south over or just inside the beltway.
