Reported to ASD by phone:
I was at Hy-Vee putting groceries in the car when I noticed a group of stars in the eastern sky at approximately 75 degrees, and mentioned to my teenage daughter that there was something odd about them. We got in the car and I looked at the stars for a couple of minutes. I watch the skies a lot and it just did not look normal. Then, as we were looking at the "stars" a group of about 12-15 of them started moving around the sky in different patterns in all directions. I said "do you see that?" to my daughter, just to be sure I was not seeing things, and she replied that she did. We watched as the objects, which we now realized were not stars or planets, moved around very quickly, shooting across some distance at a high rate of speed - faster than any jet, then back again to the group. They were all independently moving around up, down, left, right, etc., then after a few minutes the objects suddenly went back to their original positions and stopped, once again looking like stars. Anyone who did not know the sky would not have noticed the "extra" stars in the sky. We kept looking for a while but they did not move again, so we left for home. This was the craziest thing I've seen in my life, and now I know for sure that we are not alone in the universe. Please let me know if anyone else saw this.
