Sighting Details
A close friend and I just exited one the local restaurants by the Killeen movie theater in Killeen. We stayed out in the parking lot talking for a few minutes. My friend pointed out a strange object in the northwest portion of the sky. It was a very bright yellow/orange orb/sphere shaped object that was stationary in the air. It was about the size of a nearby planet like Mars or Venus in the night sky. It was positioned approximately 25 degrees from the horizon. It just stayed there in the air with no movement. It disappeared abruptly after about 20 seconds before my friend or I could get a picture of the object. There was no sound coming from it. However, it appeared to be a good distance from us. It did not display the characteristics of a flare or meteor. I don't know what the object was. I am puzzled and so is my friend.
