The unknown light source was observed for a duration of approximately 10 seconds. I was seated on my deck facing the South and looked up and saw this circular light. It had a glowing center, a middle band of dark and then a perimeter that was of equal proportion to the middle band. The perimeter was glowing about the same intensity as the center. It was headed to the NE. At about the one thousand five count the light source changed direction and abruptly turned to the SE and began to ascend. At about the one thousand 10 count it had faded and or entered partial haze/overcast. The light source was approximately half the size of a softbook match head held at arm's length , and was much brighter and larger than the background stars that were observed prior to and after the sighting.
