I was in Century City, Los Angeles. The time was 12:13am. My boyfriend and I were just beginning to drive home when we came to a stoplight. We first observed two blinking lights in the sky; red and white. At first it seemed to look like a airplane, with its white and red flashing lights but what seemed unusual was the pattern of the blinking. It was at least a mile away but was in the range of eye level to treetops and power lines. It began to rise altitude and speed. As it picked up speed, it descended about 3 inches from my field of vision and ascended quickly back to it's original altitude. We decided to follow it by car in a span of 4 minutes. It was moving west towards the Orion's Belt constellation. It was moving so fast that we could not keep up with the flying object. As it moved farther away, the red light was no longer visible but only the white light. After my boyfriend dropped me off at my home, he was driving back home and observed an airplane and tested if you could keep up with it. He was able to and concluded the aircraft we witnessed was not a airplane.
