I was getting a midnight snack at Dunkin Donuts with a friend and we decided to pull around back next to the baseball fields at Livingston Park to eat in my car.
I was looking out the windshield at the stars when I thought I saw one of the stars move. I thought I was imagining it, so I asked my friend if he saw it, and once I pointed it out he quickly dismissed it as a satellite. But when the moving object began to emit different colors of light, we decided to get out of the car for a better look.
The object was the size of a bright star and although it remained in the same general area, it made rapid swooping movements and appeared to be spinning. A plane flew beneath it at one point but the object continued to move erratically. I wanted to take a picture but the object was so small it was just barely clear to our naked eyes.
We remarked to each other when it changed colors or moved to reassure ourselves that we were not imagining it. We stood outside the car for almost 45 minutes without even realizing how much time had passed. We eventually left, with the object still hovering as we did so.
