It was a while ago but memory is vivid! I was dropped off at the place where I lived, out in country side, at about 1:30-2:00am. I had to walk approx 300yds to reach the house. Directly in front of me, probable 150yds away, I saw a ball shaped thing appear from what seemed to be the garden of the house directly in front of me. I couldn't really judge the size, I'd say it looked about the size of a basketball, but, it looked very close and yet far away at the same time! It was incredibly bright but cast no light at all on the surrounding trees/buildings. It raised slowly at first until about twice the height of th��� house, then it accelerated directly upwards at incredible, speed. It had no noticeable acceleration, it went from stationary to its top speed instantly. I then, being only about 15 at the time, ran home crapping myself! About a week later I was in a car with my mate only about 3/4 miles from where this had happened. Again, it was about 1-2am. We were travelling along a very quiet country lane. We both saw a similar, ball shaped object rise from the ditch directly in front of us. The ditch was no more than 20ft in front of us but again it was difficult to judge it's distance, however, it was our side of the hedgerow so was for sure within 20ft! It again was bright but shine no light on the hedge it was adjacent to, even though it was within inches of this hedge. It shot up again with no perceptible change in acceleration. It shot directly up until out of view - only a few seconds. My friend witnessed this. I've never known where to report these but hope it makes since to someone as its driven me crazy for years!!
