This report is being filed by field investigator David Kreiter for the witness.
A Marion, Iowa witness and his father were watching the Persiod meteor showers late at night in August of 2013. The father was the first to notice an object that was blocking out star light in the northern sky at about 25 degrees above the horizon. They both watched as the object, which was being pursued by two military jets employing after-burners, moved toward the ESE. The object and the jets eventually disappeared from view in the ESE. About 10 to 15 minutes later the object with the jets still in perusit reappeared from the ESE but at a slightly lower altitude. The unidentified object and the two jets eventually disappeared from view in the NE.
