Sighting Details

At 5:05 a.m. Dec. 29th. while walking towards my truck I saw Commercial jets coming my direction which were out to the west. The jets were clearly visible, which is quite common because of their lights. It was still dark out. I had a sudden urge to look up and saw an orange glow. The glow was elongated or rectangular in shape. At first I thought there was a large piece of paper caught in the wind because of the movement of the glow. This object was moving at a fast rate heading south east and was reflecting the city lights and ground glow because of the snow cover.. It was completely silent and was fast as a jet. It was positioned lengthwise in the sky as it flew by. There were clouds forming to the south east. I know it was under the cloud layer because I watched it fly under them.. It was 1/2" x 1/4" at arms length when it was directly above me. I watched it fly farther and farther away until it was out of view.. Clearly under the clouds.. It took 15 seconds or so from first observing it "over head" and when it went out of view.. What was really strange about it is was completely quiet.. The glow on the object moved differently then the object moved. Then it dawned on me it was reflecting all the lights below it. The glow was fading in and out at random as do the ground lights.. Like I said.. How can something fly right overhead and low not make any noise and go that fast... It was clearly reflecting the ground and if I didn't look up when I did I never would have seen it.
