My wife and I just walked the dog. Nice Minnesota night, nothing unusual except for a big moving spotlight thing casting a dull 'flower' pattern on the base of the clouds to the east of us. It's been there for a few days now.
Anyway, my wife started seeing these lights first. At first she said 'was that lightning?' as we were a few minutes into our walk - I didn't see the first few so I said 'I don't know, doesn't seem stormy' and we walked on up the hill towards a school about a mile from home. As we got the school/park area at the top of the hill the sky opens up, not so many trees, and she saw SEVERAL more and kept saying 'what the heck!?!!', and I finally saw one myself as well.
Until I saw it I dismissed them as 'probably shooting stars', but then we started noticing that whatever these were were actually 'shooting' in all different directions, up, down, and sideways. They were SUPER FAST, like they were 'dipping out' of the clouds in the eastern sky, 'shooting' straight to the west, and then 'shooting UP' back into the cloud base, all in like a half-second. We saw several more of these craft/lights do this, alternating between E-W and N-S trajectories. VERY strange.
The 'craft', it they were, were to us just very VERY bright self-lighted objects, it seemed mostly like a shining (but not 'sparkling') white light with not a lot of detail visible, but to be honest they could've had little green men waving hello at us from an open window and we wouldn't have seen a thing, they were SO wicked fast, very bright, and very hard to spot 'on purpose'.
My wife actually asked me to file a report when I brought up this website and she saw that somebody else of reported something similar.
