Last summer about 0130 ish my son and I while driving on US 951 near the Collier BLVD hospital heading south we witness a low flying aircraft with red and white lights. the "head" and the "Tail" of the aircraft were white with a center light red at a hight level in the middle. The front light was blinking. It went back and forth across the 951 with very quick fluid direction changes that almost appeared to be 90 degree turns. Not a banking motion like in a small aircraft. (I used to be a student pilot)
Tonight on my way between hospitals at 0226 an aircraft flying very low was just 1-2 miles north of the 101 exit heading East. It continued for a short distance then made several direction changes and was heading North then ended going south and then back west at about, from a distance, what appeared to be near the 101 exit. I had stopped to try to get video on my phone but with night and the distance away I could not. I tried to turn around to and "chase" it to try to capture video but when I got to exit 101 it was no longer visible. During the abupt directional changes it was the exact configuration of the lights I saw last year. Only different this time was that at one point it was only 2 red lights( one above the other) for about 15 seconds.
It was nice to see it again so that I had the opportunity to verify things I thought I saw last time like the light formation but since I was more calm this time I was able to take the time to verify things like the lack of a green light on the wing of a FAA registered aircraft.
