Sighting Details

I was walking westward from my neighbors house (4 houses away) to my house at 9:20 pm and looked up into the sky. I noticed some lights emerging from behind the trees to the south, thinking they were a couple of private planes just leaving the local airport. The two lights were not airplane lights, but yellow/gold "verticle bow tie" shaped lights that were moving more slowly northward "in formation". A few seconds later another two yellow/gold bow tie shaped lights, following the same path, emerged and followed the first two. The whole time all were moving in a formation pattern of about three inches apart vertically and horizontially (when you hold your fingers up to the sky). I ran into my house and brought my wife out to see the UFO's. As we watched, the four lights moved slowly until they were west of us, and at that time being closest to us. They then came to a stop and hovered there for a couple of minutes. Then three slowly moved north westward away from the fourth bow tie light and faded away. About 25 to 30 seconds later, the fourth hoverig light just disappeared in it's place. During the whole time of observance there was "no" sound of any kind. The yellow/gold bow tie shape was very sharp and distinct. My wife and I were in awe the whole time. We have lived near airports our whole lives, and knew we were not watching airplanes. We had to watch the incident until it's conclusion, no matter how long it took. It just didn't last long enough.
