Sighting Details

I was in Hawaii in December 1986. We landed in Hawaii around 630 and arrived at the Waikiki Marriott hotel around 7pm or 730. We got to our room of the 24 floor facing the south side of the island beach front. We got into the room around 8 to 90 pm I went to the balcony to look for ejecta from Haley's comet passing on the north side of the Island. i was looking strait up to see any small shooting particles from the comets tail. I did nto observe any think of the comet but looking strait up i saw a huge Sphere hovering over the hotel. This object was about 50 to maybe 80 max feet off the top of the hotel. The wind was screaming from south to north strong enough to damage the chandelier in the hotel lobby that had doors open to the beach side and street side. The sphere appeared to be lightly glowing or reflecting the light of the island. I had yelled at my mom and brother to come see this thing and they both witnessed the same object. After about 20 minutes of just staring at it it began to slowly hover against the wind to the south to the beach. As it moved 90 degrees over the waters edge it accelerated instantaneously and was out of sight over the Pacific in about 4 to 6 seconds. Even over the ocean the object had a faint glow that was visually apparent even with the naked eye. the object never lowered or increased altitude it went from hover to strait out almost like digital perfect no bobble no effect from wind just a flawlessly strait line after hovering for about 20 minutes.
