Sighting Details

On the night of July 4, 2014 shortly after fireworks around the lake started, two of us witnessed a relatively low flying red orb (described it as egg shaped) in the sky from the NE traveling slowly to about NNE where it hovered for a minute then traveled N, hovered again then ascended above the low cloud cover. about 10 red orbs individually and sometimes in pairs arriving first from the NE then some from the West. This was going on for over 1 hour. The height of the object were much greater than the fireworks. These orbs moved from below a very low cloud cover slowly moving to stationary points of NE and NW where they stayed for minutes, then slowly traveled toward to North, similar to the first sighting, hovering again then ascended through cloud cover only to be replaced with others somewhere else. NOT fireworks, Chinese lanterns or flares - aircraft were visible because of navigation lights on normal path to airport in other directions and paths and no helicopters in area. We both admit to believing in UFO's although never before claiming to have seen anything that made us stop to really wonder. we can not break this down into any logical conclusion other than these were definitely unidentified objects. Today we still believe we have witnessed something extraordinary. I was able to take high res photos with a Pentax K5 digital camera with 60-250mm zoom lens at full zoom and 6400 ISO about 1/5 second at f4 steadied on a railing. Photos were then processed through DxOptics 8 software and enlarged to 400% which clearly showed cone shaped red-orange emissions around a hot white center. RAW digital photo files available for more accurate interpretation. The last photo I have sent was from my iPhone only to show relative position in the sky from our vantage point.
