Hello, I was bike riding in Santa Barbara. When the bike path turned North to merge with a main rode, I stopped for a water break. As I was facing the Santa Barbara hills, taking a drink, I noticed a lot of straight contrails in the air (common but don't think commercial. By their dissipation most the aircraft had headed North. If military, most likely from Point Magu NAS in the South?) My eyes then caught a "apparently small", white, almond shaped craft, moving South at a pretty good clip; looked to be above the contrails but same altitude as the clouds. It emitted NO contrails or sound and it zig-zaged from it's base course very quickly like it was avoiding something in it's path. First "downward" then back "upward" but overshot it's base course and went higher into the sky. Unfortunately by they time I got my cell phone ready for pics, the craft was lost behind a tree and denser cloud cover.
As for me, I thought it was very cool; been looking out for them, to be honest. Out of 30 years as an electro-mechanical technician, 15 were in aerospace helping to build satellites. I know all about spacecraft. I also know all about aircraft. I know what both can and cannot do.
This was obviously a craft moving in a way spacecraft and aircraft cannot.
It was doing it's own thing; oblivious of "our" physics and environmental limitations.
