On March 13th, 2014 at 11:10 pm my wife and I went outside in the backyard of our west side home. Looking up at the sky my wife pointed out a light slightly south of where we were. It was a solid light, slightly brighter than the other stars in the sky. It was partially cloudy that night. The light was at an elevation higher than the clouds and looked totally solid at the distance. It also moved faster than any commercial aircraft. About 30 seconds after that we saw another one followed by 7 more all flying in a straight line but spaced out, not very close. They moved very slowly changing direction from north to west and back several times. 8 minutes after spotting the first light we saw and could faintly hear a jet at the same high altitude approaching. The lights split formation and went separate directions, except for the one closet to the jet stopped and then went back and fourth in an east to west and back manner as if taunting the approaching jet. As the jet got almost to the distance of the lights when they were in formation, the last light left at a high rate of speed in a northwest direction. Within seconds it was out of sight as cloud cover was also increasing. The jet changed direction, west, then behind cloud cover. After that, we lost sight of all moving objects. Several times for a few seconds at a time we lost sight of the lights from passing clouds. We tried capturing the objects on video but the distance and altitude combined with darkness and iPhone auto-focus nothing worth viewing.
