Object Flight Path
My mother and I were driving on Chaparral Road in Scottsdale, Arizona at 7:01 PM Mountain (Arizona) time on Monday, May 5th, 2014. We had just finished shopping and were headed home. The sky was overcast and it was twilight. (Note that Arizona does not observe daylights saving time). On the horizon to the slight north of Camelback Mountain was a large spherical object with orangish-white lights dotted around its rim. I did not see great detail of the object, but it looked gray and its lights were easy to see. It caught my eye because I thought it was weird for a plane to be flying that low. I see planes all the time coming to and from Sky Harbor in Phoenix, but this was not in a normal pathway, nor was it anywhere near as high as planes. Then I realized it was not shaped like a plane or a helicopter and it was really large. My mom was already looking at it too. I pointed at it and said, "What is that?" Then we both just watched it for a few seconds and it slowly faded out. It looked as if it was either stationary or moving very slightly. It did not turn or change directions. It did not disappear suddenly. It just slowly became invisible, like something straight out of Star Wars. That was when we started freaking out. The whole duration of seeing the object felt like it was between 5-7 seconds. I have never seen anything like this in my life.
