As we left a restaurant on New Dorp Lane and Hylan Blvd in Staten Island, NY , I looked up and saw this orange/yellow glowing object above us coming from the Northeast sky. The sky was clear without clouds. As I looked up, I originally thought it may be a hot air balloon because the glow looked like the flame that would keep a balloon inflated. But upon us looking, it was much too high for a hot air balloon to be.It glowed brightly as it moved at a steady slow pace in a Southwest direction. After about 7 minutes, the light dimmed in the distance. This object was completely silent with no consideration of it being either a plane or a helicopter. There were also other people who shortly thereafter came out of the restaurant and were observing the same object that we were.
