Me and my boyfriend were driving home from my moms at approximately 9:30 p.m. when I saw a very bright and very large orange light in the sky. I made him pull over to look closer. It looked either diamond or triangular in shape. It did not look like any helicopter or airplane I ever saw, plus it was closer than either one of those would have been, but we heard no noise. I would compare it to the size of the moon on a normal night (but obviously closer). It didn't really look like it was too high up. We stopped and stared for a little and it's pace seemed slower than that of an average aircraft we would be used to seeing. However, we had to move because we stopped in the middle of the road. We drove less than a mile, and watched it in the sky. But when we arrived home (less than a mile away) we did not see it anywhere. I never saw anything like it in my life. I was shocked and in awe. We did make a turn, so it's possible it went to the other side of the mountain, which is likely since that's the direction it was heading in. I haven't heard from anyone else who saw it. When I first saw it, I didn't know what it was. It didn't look like an airplane or helicopter, plus we live in a small town so we don't see too much of that kind of activity anyway. I noticed it because I was looking out the window as we were driving and had to stop because I didn't understand what it was.
