Sighting Details

Driving that evening from Tamarac, McNab Road area, to Lauderhill, Commercial Blvd area, for dinner out. 1/2 block south of home location, passenger with me yelled out, "What the heck are those things!"...I slammed on the brakes, turned on flashers (thankfully, no one behind us!)and looked out to the east, which would be the Ft. Lauderdale area. I then did a u-turn at the stop sign, pulled the car over to a swale area, and we both just stared at these bright orange, glowing orb-type objects. They appeared to be ascending, individually, and in small groups/clusters, float together to a certain point, and then maintained a straight path, and then one by one disappeared, until only one was visible. We lost sight at that point, due to tree cover. There was no wind that evening, it was clear in the area we were observing, but there seemed to be some storm clouds to the northeast...we did see flashes of 'odd' lightning, as well. The orbs seemed to be traveling rather fast. They did not seem to be just floating on air currents. I attempted to take a photo, with my cellphone camera, but was unable to do so. As far as feelings/reactions...I suppose wonderment would cover it...we've been seeing a LOT of odd things over the past couple of months...an earlier orb siting in November, a single one, to the northwest of our location. I've been checking your site since Sunday evening, as to whether or not any other residents noticed them...this would match with your report #52816, Tamarac, also. As an aside, we've also been noticing rather odd 'twinkling stars' of late, which I've been unable to identify as actual planets, or stars. They seem to come and go, not always in the same sky areas, and do not appear at the same time of either day or evening. They tend to appear either to the west of us, but also slightly northwest, and to the east...
