Appearing not far to the left of the Orion constellation - Saw what I assumed to be a satellite, as it was moving at satellite speed. Quickly noticed that it seemed too bright to be a satellite. Thought airplane. But they typically have flashing lights, this was a constant brightness. It was moving vertically upwards. Started to slow down, appeared to move in the opposite direction slightly, moved upwards again, and eventually just stopped, staying in place. Kept an eye on it for 10 minutes, it didn't move again. Observed it to be the brightest light in the sky at the time. Came back outside an hour later and still saw it sitting there in the sky.
This was two nights ago. I have still seen it in the exact same spot every night since then.
