Object Flight Path
Path with directional change
I was in my apartment on the couch with my brother. I got up and went to the door to my balcony and looked up at the sky. Keep in mind my sighting was less than 3-5 seconds. There are 3 bright stars in the sky outside my balcony every night, and this satellite was as bright as the brightest stars in the sky.
Right as I saw it I identified it as a Satellite, I saw it moving upwards across the sky and a split second later it jolted sideways I knew it was a UFO so I screamed to my brother "UFO UFO!"
and at the same time I flung the door open to get a better look at the sky.
By the time I opened my door and looked up, it was gone. Although I've had multiple other sightings, this one was my favorite because I was able to confirm to myself that I saw this object, and less than a second later the object wasn't in the sky. So for me personally, I know this was a legitimate sighting. My other sightings were a lot more strange so I don't know what to believe on those.
I recently moved to Winston-Salem from Raleigh. (I have also had multiple sightings in Raleigh) I used to watch Satellites all the time in Raleigh. They just look like moving stars that continue on a path across the sky.
I've been living here for 4 months now and this is my second sighting. I also saw an object the first couple weeks I was living here, that was shooting balls of light upwards into the air every few seconds as it moved across the sky, and began to smell a burnt smell in the air. Never figured out what that was.
3-5 seconds series of events
*Walk up to door*
less than 1 second- *Spot the object moving steadily with my eye and identified as satellite*
less than a second- *the object moved sharply, what looked to be a substantial amount of distance, as I began yelling "UFO UFO" I was opening the door at the same time, the door frame moves in front of my vision, I see the sky again and scan it, the object is gone*
